Workplace Facilities Coordinator

Location: Washington, DC (Local candidates only)

Pay Rate: $23–$25/hr

Contract: Long-term, ongoing; no set end date, based on performance

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, onsite

Job Overview

We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of a busy corporate office. This person will coordinate with property management, janitorial teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure the office is clean, safe, organized, and operating smoothly.

This is a coordination and facilities support role. The person will not be responsible for performing major repairs but will identify issues, submit and manage work orders, coordinate vendors, and follow up through completion.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily office walkthroughs to ensure the workplace is clean, organized, and well maintained.
  • Monitor janitorial services and communicate feedback or areas for improvement to the vendor.
  • Respond to and manage facilities work orders, ensuring requests are addressed and completed on time.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and minor facility projects with vendors and property management.
  • Track work orders and requests through the CMMS/ticketing system.
  • Identify facilities issues and determine the appropriate vendor or service provider to address them.
  • Provide vendor escorts and direction onsite as needed.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and procurement of facilities services.
  • Coordinate with Property Management on building-related needs, including loading dock access and deliveries.
  • Support meetings, events, and conference room setups as needed.
  • Conduct basic site inspections and assessments and escalate safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve office operations and service quality.
  • Support other facilities and workplace operations as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities, workplace operations, property management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, janitorial services, repairs, and building maintenance requests.
  • Experience working in a corporate office environment.
  • Experience to coordinate repairs, maintenance, and minor facility projects with vendors and property management.
  • Experience to do regular walking throughout the office building and report any safety or maintenance concerns,
  • As needed- Support meetings, events, and conference room setups.
  • Basic understanding of facilities and building systems, including HVAC.
  • 2+ years of experience using CMMS, ticketing, or work order systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders up to 10 feet.
  • Ability to work onsite and perform occasional overtime or on-call duties.
  • Must pass a standard background check.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders up to 10 feet.
  • May occasionally need to assist with moving supplies, equipment, or furniture.
